Who am I and what do I offer?

Hi plant peeps!

My name is Safiyah & I go by S. Dot!
I'm a gardener/content creator and I started offering affordable virtual & in-person garden coaching & consultations for beginner gardeners in 2022 and 2023.
​
Since then, I’ve been able to help many beginner gardeners have a successful growing season.
My target audience is beginner gardeners because I know how intimidating gardening can be for a newbie. If I didn’t have the guts to try something new, I’d never be on the path that I am today.
​
Gardening is a spiritual experience. It heals the mind, body & soul. Growing your own food organically and creating a thriving ecosystem will not only provide you with fresh & healthy produce, but it will also benefit the environment and even give you something to look forward to on your worst days.
​
My goal is to provide beginner gardeners with affordable coaching & consultations, showing them the basics so they feel more confident in the garden!

My services are meant to be affordable. I know how expensive garden coaching and consultations can be, so it is a priority of mine to make sure that my services are affordable. Everyone deserves access to fresh organic foods. I will work with your budget to make sure you can grow your own without breaking the bank.

I won’t overwhelm you as a beginner gardener with too much information at once. If there’s one thing that frustrated me as a beginner gardener, it’s that the information out there is conflicting and difficult to understand. My goal is to teach you how to think like a gardener so eventually you’ll feel comfortable to grow your own, on your own!

How my Consultations Work
*** Please read the important information below BEFORE getting a quote. Reading this information in full will explain how my services work. It will also answer many of your initial questions & prepare you for the quoting & booking process. ***

You WILL NOT be required to make any payment until AFTER the contract is signed and the scheduled appointment is complete.
My garden coaching & consultation services are offered virtually (everywhere) and in person (select DC, MD & VA locations). I will confirm whether I can travel to your location once you provide me with an address.

Garden Coaching is like having a personal trainer that gardens with you while teaching you how to eventually garden on your own, this is for the true DIYer.
​
Garden Consulting is typically project based, providing verbal guidance, answering questions, and brainstorming solutions until the end of the project.
​
Virtual appointments are a great option to take advantage of if you aren’t located close to zone 7 Virginia, where I live. Virtual appointments are also great for people who don’t have the time for in person visits, or people that don’t need me to be hands on in the garden. All virtual appointments will be held online via Zoom.
In-person appointments are great for those of you that live near me in zone 7 Virginia, and either need me to be hands on in the garden, or those that need me there as a guide while they do the labor themselves.

All of my appointments are scheduled in 30 minute increments. It’s VERY important to keep this in mind when looking at my pricing and getting a quote.
​
The booking process WILL NOT be complete UNTIL you get a quote, AND you sign a contract stating the price and the conditions.
​
To book an appointment, please start by filling out this Google Form.
The quote and contract will be provided for you to accept or decline AFTER you fill out the google form.
​
Once, you sign and return the contract, we will work together to choose a date and time that works for both of us. I will then provide you with a list of materials you need for our appointment if any at all.
​

Please provide as much information as possible on the google form so I can give you an accurate quote. The more detailed you are on the form, the less information I will need to collect for the quoting process.

How does pricing work?
​
***The price estimates are based on 30 minute increments.***
​
You WILL NOT be required to make any payment until AFTER the contract is signed and the scheduled service is complete.

Please keep in mind that pricing is different for small gardens vs. large gardens. I will classify your garden size and the services needed to give you a full quote AFTER you schedule an appointment.

*** A labor rate of $15 per 30 minutes will be added to the total cost of in-person appointments if my physical labor is required. ***
Many clients choose to do the labor on their own and have me there as a guide, but please keep in mind that a labor rate will be applied to the total cost if my physical labor is required during in-person appointments.
The base price for all services is fixed. The labor rate will be added on top of the final price if my physical labor is required.

Pricing:
Small Gardens: $10 - $15 per 30 minutes
Large Gardens: $20 - $30 per 30 minutes
